Experience
Altrady is trading software for active crypto traders: market scanning, charting, advanced order execution, bots, portfolio tracking, paper trading, backtesting and journaling in one workspace, across 19+ exchanges. Largest single contributor to the desktop and web app since its first release.
- Trading-terminal workspace. Dockable multi-widget layout with per-device (desktop, tablet, mobile) layouts and presets. Led the migration from react-grid-layout to flexlayout-react without breaking saved user layouts.
- Replay / backtest engine. Bar-by-bar replay with speed and step controls, replay trading where orders fill against replayed candles, saved backtests and step-back optimisation. First built on the TradingView Charting Library, whose sparse documentation and uneven API had to be tamed into a smooth feature, later ported to a custom charting library.
- Charting integrations. TradingView datafeed and on-chart orders, alerts, DCA and grid-bot previews, custom indicators and drawings. In 2026, integration of a custom charting library with multi-chart, replay and sandboxed user scripting, coexisting with the TradingView charts during rollout.
- Design system. Shared component library with Storybook and light/dark design tokens, used across the whole app.
- Interactive tutorials and quizzes. Chart-driven trading quizzes with an authoring editor, replay-based playback, grading and progress, later a guided smart-trading tutorial. Sole owner.
- Accounts, portfolio and scanning. Exchange API-key onboarding, 2FA and authorized devices. Portfolio and trading analytics, base scanner and market explorer, order, position and alert widgets, paper trading.
- Delivery. Four-language i18n, web build target, React Native webview shell for mobile, Electron 2->44 and React 16->19 upgrade sweeps, GitHub Actions CI.
- 2026: architecture and review. Specifications, architecture and review of all frontend contributions, including LLM-assisted ones from non-engineers, using my own spec-first workflow (PRD -> design -> tasks -> implementation -> review).
React/Redux management UI and a shared component library for a data-capture platform, plus code review for the team.
Scrum team owning the Java/Spring REST APIs for assisted banking transactions: endpoints, business logic, JUnit/Mockito unit tests, Robot Framework and Gatling automation, deployments across environments.
Full-stack work for a small agency: Java Spring Boot APIs (Hibernate, MySQL, Docker, Jenkins) and ColdFusion web applications for clients including Elsevier, up to nine applications in one sprint.
First solo production system: member administration and exam-enrollment web app (PHP, MySQL, jQuery), from stakeholder interviews and data migration to hosting and support. In daily use for years.

Thesis: Taking up the RoCKIn@Work object recognition challenge with the Bag of Keypoints approach - computer vision and machine learning in C++ (OpenCV, PCL, ROS).
Projects: autonomous exploration with an unmanned aerial system (Netherlands Aerospace Centre), and predicting bird behaviour from GPS and accelerometer data with machine learning.
